Castel Morrone
The interior on Via Castel Morrone in Milan revolves around a sixteenth-century painting to which our client asked us to give particular prominence. The apartment occupies an early twentieth-century building in the centre of eastern Milan; its entrance and courtyard are unique of their kind.
The apartment underwent a complete reconfiguration: 80% of the walls had to be demolished to make it work for the client’s new needs and wishes.
The living area and the dining room are separated by a partition of less than full height, on which that very painting is hung and lit by dedicated ERCO fittings.
Eighteenth-century furniture and mirrors are combined with contemporary pieces designed specifically for the client and made by skilled local craftsmen. The only off-the-shelf items were a BAXTER sofa and a VALCUCINE kitchen; everything else was designed bespoke by MORO DESIGN.
